Jess and Giles: A New York City Micro Wedding at the Marlton Hotel

Jess and Giles’ micro wedding weekend at the Marlton Hotel was so much fun to capture. From a cozy welcome dinner at their favorite pizza place, Rossopomodoro, to their first look on the cobblestone streets of Washington Mews, these images give a glimpse into an what a classic, intimate New York City wedding looks like.

After the welcome dinner and I spent the night at the Marlton. When I woke up the next day, I first checked in with Jess before making my way over to Giles’ apartment. It was beautiful day to be out for a walk in the early afternoon sun. We weren’t sure what the weather was doing but it ended up being a clear day with the sun playing in and out of the clouds. While Giles was getting ready, I noticed him picking up his guitar. He was a little nervous, but this seemed to calm him right down.

I made my way back to the Marlton to start with Jess in her super cute rooftop suite. Bathed and glowing in the in the afternoon sunlight, the room felt alive with love. It was the perfect backdrop for capturing the energy of a wedding day, bright and beautiful. I always feel so lucky to be present for the sweet tender moments that happen while a bride is getting ready. To be welcomed into that space in time is so special.

The first look took place on the historic Washington Mews, a wonderful cobblestone street just a block away from Washington Square Park. It’s such a charming area. You really feel like you just stepped back in time. Funny enough, while walking down the street, we bumped into another bride and groom. We all had a laugh as they congratulated each other. A little serendipity in the big city.

The wedding ceremony took place in the pretty natural light of the solarium at Margaux, the hotel's lovely restaurant. Surrounded by loved ones, Jess and Giles exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony. In that warm atmosphere of love, they also shared a first dance together right there where they said, I do.

The celebration continued into the evening with a dinner at Gramercy Tavern. Jess and Giles, along with their closest friends and family, enjoyed themselves in a truly elegant setting. The party continued with a night on the town to cap off an all around amazing day.

Enjoy a few images from this fun wedding weekend!
